Waste & Resource Recovery

Remondis Australia: telematics built for every waste truck type, rolling out nationally

Since 2023, Netcorp has built a specific telematics and safety configuration for each Remondis Australia vehicle type, from front, side and rear loaders to liquid trucks, hook lifts and light vehicles. The rollout continues across new and retrofitted assets nationwide.

The challenge

No two vehicles in a waste fleet do quite the same job. A rear loader lifts and packs hundreds of times a shift in residential streets. A side loader works its arm kerbside, a front loader services commercial bins, a hook lift swaps bins on site and a liquid truck runs its own pumps and controls. Each has its own duty cycle, its own risks and its own idea of what a productive shift looks like.

A one-size-fits-all tracking device sees all of them as dots on a map. Remondis needed telematics and safety monitoring specified for each vehicle type, so every truck reports what matters for the work it actually does.

And it had to work everywhere Remondis operates, from metro depots to remote regional runs, across new vehicles as they arrive and the existing fleet already in service.

How we built it for each vehicle type

  • Stage 1

    Specify by body type

A configuration defined for each vehicle type: what to capture, which cameras to fit and how events are reported.

  • Stage 2

    Fit new and existing

New vehicles fitted as they enter service, with the existing fleet retrofitted to the same standard.

  • Stage 3

    Install where they work

Netcorp technicians on site at metro depots and remote regional locations, around collection runs rather than in place of them.

  • Stage 4

    Keep rolling out

A continuing programme, extending across the fleet nationally.

What we deployed

Front, side and rear loaders

Configurations built around each body's lift and collection cycle, read as structured events alongside engine, fuel and fault data.

Liquid trucks

A configuration built for liquid waste and vacuum operations, separate from the collection fleet.

Hook lifts and semi-trailer transport

Bin exchange and waste haulage tracked as their own duty cycles.

Light vehicle fleet

Supervisor and service vehicles monitored on the same platform as the heavy fleet.

Vehicle and driver safety monitoring

Camera coverage around each vehicle, with video tied to the same trip and event timeline.

National install and service

Netcorp-employed technicians across metro and regional areas, with advance replacement within 24 hours of diagnosis.
